The lovely, minimalist folktale adventure Burly Men at Sea ($4.99) has made its way onto the Apple TV in the latest update, and I think it will look great on a large screen. If you haven’t had the chance to play Burly Men at Sea yet, first you have to admit that it probably has the best name ever for a game. Moving beyond that, Burly Men at Sea is a game about three burly fishermen who have decided to venture forth into the Scandinavian waters of the last century and spice up their lives. The clever mechanic that really makes the game stand out is how instead of interacting with the characters, you interact with the environment by moving the camera around, which in turn lets you alter the narrative.
This is definitely the kind of game that ignites conversations over whether video games are art or not. Recently, the developers even turned player’s runs into hardcover books with lovely art, which was a pretty cool idea. The free update also adds a sticker pack, which I’m glad about because, as you can see from the trailer above, the art is pretty neat.
