The Walking Dead: March to War, Disruptor Beam’s take on the famous franchise, is slowly coming to together, and today we got to hear about the game’s Council System, a mechanic the developers will use to bring famous characters from the graphic novels into the game . Council Members will be necessary when you send your survivors out of the camp and into the devastated world around them. Your survivors, which you recruit as you go along, are very weak—think innocent members of the various peaceful communities of TWD world—so you’ll need a Rick or a Michonne to accompany them as Council Members. Each of the Council Members will come with their talents that will reflect their personality; for instance, Negan has “Half Their Stuff" and “Batter Up" while Hershel has “My House, My Rules." These talents will influence the way the survivors react to the world around them.
The way you recruit Council Members is by sending survivors into the world to collect Comic Covers, and once you’ve collected enough comic covers for a character, you’ll unlock him or her. The developers are planning on launching with 12 Council Members, 11 from the graphic novels and one original character created by Disruptor Beams. I like how the developers are incorporating the characters from the original material into the game, but how it all will actually play out remains to be seen.
