File this one under speculation since we aren’t sure what will come out of it. Taylor Swift has apparently filed nine separate trademarks for the word “Swifties," and while initially many thought the singer was trying to start her own streaming service, it looks like she might be going the gaming route instead. The trademark includes computer software for mobile devices, which can be used for streaming and downloading audio, video and live recordings, but can also be used for computer and mobile gaming technology.
So, are we getting a Taylor Swift mobile game? Hard to say. Glu made a fortune making celebrity-based games, with Kim Kardashian: Hollywood leading the charge, but that well seems to have gone dry. At the same time, Taylor Swift has a huge fanbase of pretty much the right age for mobile gaming, so it’s hard to tell. Time will tell.
