After a brief beta period, the strategy card game Faeria (Free) is finally out worldwide, and I’m quite excited about this one. This cross-platform game combines a hex grid (which immediately makes it a good game in my opinion) with a CCG, and in order to defeat the other player, you have to modify the board accordingly. Think of it as playing Magic the Gathering but instead of having to play 3 lands before playing a specific card, you have to transform three board tiles into that specific kind of land and then play the minion on one of those lands. So, you’ll have to be thinking both in terms of what kinds of cards you want to play but also how to transform the board to suit your cards and strategy.
The game has PvP, of course, but also has over 20 hours of solo content, which should please the misanthropes among you. The game currently has over 270 cards, so plenty of choices when it comes to building your deck. Faeria also has a pretty active competitive scene with a Monthly Cup and cash prizes. In short, if you like CCGs and you’re looking for a promising one to spend time with, go grab Faeria. And if you’re an Android player, the game should be coming to your platform soon.
