War Wings is a 4v4 real-time PvP dogfighting game that looks pretty cool, and it has finally soft-launched on iOS in Australia and New Zealand. The game offers three different gameplay modes, including quick PvP matches and League Seasons, customizable warplanes with options that change the way your airplane behaves and looks, and more. As you can see from the trailer below, the planes look pretty good and the whole set-up looks like a Wargaming game. There’s a good sense of speed in the dogfights and the ability to take down ships, too. And the game has realistic plane and weapon damage as well.
The game is F2P, which always worries me a bit because it’s easy to turn a competitive game into a pay-to-win one even if you didn’t intend on doing so originally. Hopefully War Wings will escape that fate. You can get the game here, and if you don’t have an account in Australia or New Zealand, check out our soft-launch guide on how to make one.
