Ellen DeGeneres decided to enter the world of mobile games back in 2013 with Heads Up!, and the game has been in the top grossing Apps pretty much ever since. So, it’s fair to say that her popularity – and a well-designed game – is a pretty good recipe for success. That is why I expect her new game, Dice with Ellen (Free), to also be successful, although I’m not sure it’s going to reach the success of Heads Up! ($1.99). This dice game is pretty much a take on Yahtzee and is all about trying to get the best score and beat your friends and enemies.

So far, it doesn’t sound like it would be much more than a Yahtzee clone. But there are many little things that will get Ellen’s fans playing, pretty much like Heads Up! did. You can win special dice by playing against the Ellen squad (Portia De Rossi, tWitch, Jeannie, and Andy) as well as customize your dice, play in tournaments, get bonus dice rolls by playing the in-game scratches, and loads of other little things like that. Judging from Heads Up!, those features should help make this new game a success too.
