The LEGO Batman Movie is scheduled to launch tomorrow in the United States, and if rave reviews from critics are to be believed, this latest animated film featuring everyone’s favorite plastic construction toy should reach the heights expected of both the Caped Crusader, but also The LEGO Movie that came before it. In celebration of the feature film release in theaters across North America, LEGO Batman: Beyond Gotham ($4.99) and LEGO Batman: DC Super Heroes ($4.99) have both gone on sale for $0.99. However, the fun doesn’t stop there – The LEGO Movie Video Game ($4.99) and the LEGO The Lord of the Rings ($4.99) titles have also been reduced to a mere dollar in what I can definitely describe as a ridiculous LEGO themed sale.
The centrepiece of this sale of various LEGO titles has to be LEGO Batman: Beyond Gotham, as it is the first time that the game has strayed from its initial $4.99 price point. In his review back in 2015, Shaun emphasised how, despite not being a revolutionary next step for the LEGO video game franchise, the ‘old smashy-bashy’ is still as good as ever in LEGO Batman: Beyond Gotham, and is definitely worth a look for anyone excited for the film’s release tomorrow. To be honest, all four games fit the above description – if familiarity and reliable quality is what you look for in mobile titles, as well as the expected sky-high production values and colorful graphics, all these LEGO games will suit you to a tee. With no explicitly stated set date for when these sales will end (previous LEGO sales suggest within a week or so), be sure to download any of these titles while they’re on sale as soon as you can, and look out for The LEGO Batman Movie in theaters either tomorrow for US-based readers, or a variety of other release dates for anyone outside of the continent.
