While we have a real, live, Lumines game on mobile with Lumines Puzzle and Music ($2.99), that doesn’t mean that variations on the concept shouldn’t have some room to work. Enter JMJ Interactive’s Akihabara – Feel the Rhythm, which looks a lot like Lumines at first glance with the rhythm game elements and that beat line crossing the board. But, the game is about forming matches by transforming pieces by tapping as the beat marker passes over the screen. Forming matches of 3 as the pieces land is key to clearing the board. It’s familiar but definitely seems new and a bit alien of a concept:
There will be 10 levels in the Campaign mode, with five mellow track remix levels unlocked upon completion. Akihabara – Feel the Rhythm will be available on January 26th simultaneously on desktop and mobile, with the soundtrack also hitting on that day.
