After many years in development, Minecraft Pocket Edition ($6.99) has finally hit the 1.0 milestone, and this update is a huge one. 1.0, or the Ender Update, is bringing everything from The End – End cities, End ships, Ender Dragon – Ender Pearls, Eye of Ender, Ender Chest, Dragon head, shulkers and shulker shells, chorus fruit and popped chorus fruit, end stone and end stone brick, purplur block, pillar, slabs and stairs, dragon egg, ability to craft lingering potions in survival, igloos and polar bears, strongholds, as well as support for world templates. You can check all the new additions here.
And as if those weren’t enough, Minecraft PE finally got the original soundtrack, literally my number one request ever since the game came to mobile. If you want to grab the music, go to the Store and download it because it won’t download only by updating. In addition to the music, the worlds now have 256 height, which is great for those who love building high up in the skies. Finally, we also got a World seed library, a constantly-updating curated library of cool seeds. And let’s not forget that the game now plays on Apple TV!
And if you want to get into the spirit of the holidays, there’s a Festive Mash-Up Pack waiting to give your worlds a holiday theme. I’m very excited to finally have all these features added to what was already a great game, and I can’t wait to jump back into our TouchArcade server.
