A few weeks back we wrote about Transformers: Forged to Fight, an upcoming fighting game starring many people’s favorite robots. Many in the comments were rightfully worried that this game would be nothing but the Marvel and DC fighting games with different skins, but judging from this recent interview in Kotaku, there might be more to Forged to Fight than just a re-skinned Injustice game. For one, the game will heavily feature guns, missiles, lasers, and all kinds of other ranged attacks that you can shoot off while keeping your distance.
Of course being pinned at one edge of the screen while getting hammered by all kinds of ranged attacks doesn’t exactly sound like a fun time, so the developers have added the ability to sidestep attacks. To implement movement like that, they’ve designed the game to be 3D on a 2D plane. The ability to move out of the way of attacks should add another layer of skill in the game. Hopefully, these ideas and mechanics will end up making Transformers: Forged to Fight a very entertaining fighting game.
