Origin8 made their mark on mobile in the early days of the App Store with the fantastic tower defense game Sentinel: Mars Defense ($0.99). Since then, along with releasing plenty of other games, they’ve released three sequels to Sentinel, most recently Sentinel 4: Dark Star ($0.99) in August of 2014. After about a year of silence, Origin8 has appeared once again to announce a brand new tower defense game called Solar Siege, which is a spiritual successor of sorts to another of their early titles Space Station: Frontier ($0.99). In Solar Siege, you’ll play the Commander of a Deep Space Mining Station who must fend off alien attackers so that your mining operation can successfully harvest the sweet, sweet resources of space. I really dig the clean, colorful 3D graphics in the trailer for Solar Siege, and Origin8 has already proven time and time again that they’re experts at making great tower defense titles. Look for Solar Siege to launch worldwide for free next week on December 8th.
