Ubisoft has set Rayman Classic (Free) to free on iOS and Android, but this isn’t just a Black Friday sale. This is a permanent move to free, with the game now being free with ads. And unfortunately, Ubisoft has neglected to make the game not display ads for people that already owned the game. The IAP to remove ads is only $0.99, but still – this is poor behavior.

We saw this exact kind of circumstance earlier this year with Sonic CD (Free) going free with ads but not removing them for those who bought the app previously, though it wound up that it was just an honest mistake fixed within 24 hours. One would think given the outcry that Ubisoft would have been careful with Rayman Classic but as George Santayana said, “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it."
