GSN’s Sparcade (Free) app has gotten its first major update with new content since the app’s launch. Centipede is the latest game, added as a partnership with Atari to bring a fresh version of the arcade classic into the Sparcade stable. Much like the other Sparcade renditions of games, this is a slick, well-made version of Centipede that is centered around short-burst challenges. Instead of just playing for a high score centered around a time limit, you have to try and complete challenges, such as killing a certain number of fleas, or destroying centipede heads, before letting the time run out.
Along with this entry to Sparcade – which according to Greg Canessa, has been outperforming expectations so far, and has seen a surprising balance of playtime between all 5 of the launch titles – another game has been revealed for the Sparcade app. Two Dots (Free) is coming to Sparcade soon. That’s right, a popular standalone mobile title known for being on mobile is coming to the real-money competition app. It’ll be interesting to see just how that fits into the Sparcade ecosystem when it launches as the next title in the app.
