Hot off the morning announcement of the new Hearthstone (Free) expansion, Mean Streets of Gadgetzan, we attended the Hearthstone: What’s Next seminar at BlizzCon. Obviously, the event was entirely centered around the new expansion and we were able to get a lot of cool information about the design cues for the expansion, along with a lot more detail about the three mafia families of Gadgetzan.
Of course, the most important thing we were able to glean from the event was the unveiling of 21 of the 132 new cards of the expansion. As you can see from the images below, there’s a lot of neat variety to the cards shown so far. There are some pretty crazy cards that have the potential significantly shift the meta such as Pilfered Power, which allows the user to Gain an empty Mana Crystal for each friendly minion on the board. Another interesting one is Kazakus, which we mentioned earlier today. Kazakus is one of the “bosses” of the three families and has the ability to create a custom spell if you don’t have any duplicates in your deck.
We’ll be posting a deep-dive of the expansion, as well as a hands-on piece later today. Until then, check out this dump of all the new cards announced today.
