This Halloween, instead of dressing up in ridiculous costumes, or harassing people in your local area for a borderline life-threatening amount of sugar, why don’t you stay inside and play iOS games all day! Apple certainly have the same idea, as fitting with the season of spookiness and scares, they have coordinated a mass Halloween sale on the App Store, with some games that have rarely, if ever, seen a price drop in their history. In particular, Severed ($0.99) has had its first major sale, and after receiving extremely positive reviews from the unflappable Carter Dotson back in July, as well as on every other platform the game has released on, a reduced price of $2.99 is basically getting away with murder. Continuing with the trend of releasing scary, horror-infused games in the terrifying month of July, Crypt of the Necromancer ($3.99) also released around the same time with equally glowing critical acclaim, and I cannot recommend it enough for only $1.99. Here is the full list – to the best of my knowledge – of the games on sale in Apple’s new ‘Spooky Games’ promotion:

With so many quality games on sale, there will be a lot to keep anyone who is not a fan of horror and horseplay happy over the coming week, and even those who have a whole host of plans for Halloween should look at taking advantage of some of these sales, as a few of the aforementioned titles rarely reduce in price, and you could end up having to wait until next year for similar bargains. While there is no explicit mention on how long this sale will last – but you can probably guess November will mark the end of a lot of these discounts – I’d recommend acting quickly if any of these games take your fancy. Also, as this is not necessarily a definitive list, be sure to keep an eye on this post, and the Price Drops section on our forums, in case any more games get added to this big Halloween promotion.

I thought Rodeo was toast after Deathwatch saw the team basically fall apart. Would love to see a comeback, their games have given me some of my best hours gaming on iOS.
