Expansive Classic-Style RPG ‘Ember’ Now Available on iOS

TouchArcade Rating:

Here’s an interesting release: 505 Games and N-Fusion (known for Deus Ex: The Fall ($4.99) and 1979 Revolution: Black Friday ($4.99)) have released Ember ($9.99) for iOS today. Described as an homage to classic RPGs, you’ll engage in party-based, real-time combat (though with what are described as “tactical pauses.") Over 70 quests, several dozen skills, crafting, and various environments are here for you to check out in what the developers promise is a 30-plus hour experience:

Now, what’s curious is that Ember released on September 9th on PC. Typically, PC ports releasing on mobile have a longer buffer between them, but this might have just been 505 Games deciding that the 9th worked best for the PC version (Friday has become a major Steam release day), and they wanted to release the mobile version after the PC version, so boom, we only had to wait a few days for this one. And the price of $6.99 in comparison to the $9.99 Steam price strikes a good balance between “try to fit with mobile pricing" and “fair to the PC version in terms of price." People in the forums are really interested in this one, and if you’ve decided to check it out, hop in the forum thread.
