CS54 might be most known among gamers for shoot ’em up Galactic Nemesis ($0.99), but their next game, *Solitaire* (Free), doesn’t play coy with its influences or anything like that. No, it’s just solitaire, the preferred game of Windows 95 users, bored office workers and grandmothers everywhere. But *Solitaire* is a super-slick game of solitaire. The game looks absolutely gorgeous, and the entire interface is usable by way of taps rather than tapping-and-dragging. It also simplifies things so that if you get stuck, you can tap cards just to see if you’re an idiot that missed an obvious move.
The game not only features your standard random draw, but also a winning draw, as some solitaire hands are theoretically unwinnable. Seems like a flaw in the design of the game itself, but you can avoid that, at least. As well, there’s a cool Leap Day (Free) esque daily challenge mode where the calendar will track the days you’ve won. *Solitaire* is available as a free ad-supported download with a $4.99 IAP to remove ads. It’s a solitaire game, but solitaire is a classic, and this is so slick and well-made that it’s worth a download just to check it out.
