If you read the comments on my Pathfinder Adventures (Free) review, you probably know that the most common complaint was that the initial content was too short. Though I’m not sure I agree with that (maybe it’s because I tend to lose a lot), I can see how that can be an issue for some players, especially those already familiar with the game. The upcoming patch – which should land early next week – should help alleviate those complaints a bit by bringing Adventure Deck 3, The Hook Mountain Massacre to the game. The new Adventure adds 5 new scenarios, including one that’s “game-changing" according to the developers, 4 new locations, 4 new maps, and over 40 monsters, henchmen, and villains. You’ll also get the chance to unlock role specializations for your characters when you complete the adventure, which should be fun.
The patch also adds Tier 3 Quest Mode, which is a different take on the formula; you take a group and level them up in adventures that are apart from story mode. Another much-requested feature. And we are also getting cloud saves that make your characters and parties in story mode available across devices, Ui improvements, and plenty of other fixes and tweaks pertaining to cards, characters, and more. You can read the detailed patchnotes here. This update, coming so quickly after the release, shows Obsidian’s commitment to Pathfinder Adventures, which is good news for those who enjoy this terrific game.
