‘Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic’ Goes on Sale, Possible Harbinger of ‘KOTOR 2’?

TouchArcade Rating:

BioWare’s Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic ($9.99) is back at its lowest price ever of $2.99. The game was already an absurd price-per-hour bargain at $9.99, but for $2.99, it’s just proof of how lucky mobile gamers are to get to paly a classic like this at a bargain-basement price. Plus, Aspyr Media hasn’t slacked off on the port, updating it this year, and providing MFi controller support and iCloud saves. So, this is a safer bet to buy than many big-name paid games that have fallen by the wayside over time.

While KOTOR‘s canonicity is kind of in flux with the revamped canon after the Disney acquistion of the Star Wars franchise, it’s still a gret game and riveting tale. We’re still waiting on KOTOR 2 (which Aspyr gave a massive update on desktop, including implementing some cut content restored by fans), and with May the 4th (be with you) coming up, this sale would be a great precursor to that sequel finally launching on mobile, wouldn’t it? Of course, KOTOR went on sale for May 4th last year, too, so it may just be that time of the year. But we can certainly dream…
