Check Out Some New Screens from ‘Demon’s Rise 2: Path to Damnation’

Last summer’s Demon’s Rise – Conquest of the Deep ($7.99) was a surprisingly fun turn-based strategy title from a teensy tiny developer called Wave Light Games. Given its huge number of playable classes, large scale battles, and insane amount of loot it’s fair to say that Demon’s Rise was an ambitious project, and it certainly was rough around the edges. That said, it was entertaining as heck, and allowed you to band together a ragtag group of good guys to take out the evil forces in the game’s universe. But what if you don’t want to be the good guy? Enter Demon’s Rise 2 – Path to Damnation. Originally announced back in November, it’s a turn-based strategy game of similar ilk to its predecessor, but it lets you play as all the bad guys. Today Wave Light Games has posted some updated screens for Path to Damnation, and it’s looking awesome so far.

As Wave Light Games describes Path to Damnation in our forums, “Unlike most RPG’s, cover is critical as well as battle formations and morale. Really strong characters can still be defeated if they position themselves poorly or panic and so forth. The game is about 50% RPG and 50% medieval / fantasy battle simulator. Players will need to make good tactical decisions with their party during combat and not just in the character creation / leveling up screens." You can find a couple of additional new images in the aforelinked forum thread, and with progress moving full steam ahead Wave Light Games hopes to get Demon’s Rise 2 – Path to Damnation out the door by Q3 of this year.
