Meet Yogg-Saron, the Last God from ‘Hearthstone’ ‘Whispers of the Old Gods’ Expansion

TouchArcade Rating:

And now we’ve seen them all. Yogg-Saron, the last God from the Whispers of the Old Gods Hearthstone (Free) expansion has finally been unveiled, and he’s kind of crazy. Yogg-Saron, Hope’s End (as is the card’s full name) is a ten mana 7/5 Legendary with a battlecry “Cast a random spell for each spell you’ve cast this game (targets chosen randomly). Crazy, right? First, a few clarifications straight for the horse’s (Blizzard’s) twitter account. This battlecry affects all potential targets, including your own hero, the spells are randomly selected from all the collectible spells and one is cast for each spell you’ve played, when played in Standard Yogg-Saron will only cast Standard spells, and his spells might target himself but even if destroyed, the full Battlecry will still take place.

Also, spells cast by Yogg-Saron will not buff Mana Wyrm or interact with Antonidas (or anything along those lines), the spells won’t interact with Lorewalker Cho, and you won’t get Overload if he casts an Overload spell. So, it’s going to take some time for players to figure out how best to use Yogg-Saron’s ability.

Hearthstone

As you can guess, the randomness will be quite limitless with this one, and I expect we’ll be seeing many, many videos with all kinds of crazy shenanigans starring Yogg-Saron. The end-result should benefit the caster despite the randomness, and if nothing else, this is bound to be a great card for those who enjoy playing Hearthstone for those amazing moments rather than the ones trying to get to Legend every month. I think Blizzard designed this one appropriately since this God corrupts everything and everyone around him, and those crazy spells will definitely do so in the game, too.
