‘Pixel Machines’ is 8-Player ‘Micro Machines’ for iOS and Apple TV

TouchArcade Rating:

While we’re getting a revamped Micro Machines on mobile someday (it’s still in soft launch), people who might want something closer to the original 2D top-down racers will want to pay attention to Pixel Machines. It takes quite obvious inspiration from the classic Micro Machines games, which is not a bad thing at all. But the features list seems quite killer. The game will support Apple TV, and you can play with up to 8 people using a mixture of the Siri Remote, MFi controllers, and iOS devices. Yes, that sounds like fun.

If you have trouble wrangling together 7 other players – hey, some of us are hermits and intoverts – then there won’t be online multiplayer, but you can share and race against ghosts of other players. And it’ll all be at 60 fps with various visual effects to make it look spiffier than an NES game would look like. The developer is looking for testers to help iron out the game ahead of release; you can get details on how to help test it out in the game’s forum thread.
