We’ve been posting about our Patreon for a while now, and we’ve really never done that much for our backers beyond just doing what we’re doing and offering up some minor rewards in the form of forum titles. That’s largely intentional, as we want to keep providing an awesome web site for everyone, regardless of whether or not you chip in. But, we figured since both Jared and I are going to be at GDC, and there’s a decent chance that a few of our backers are going to be at GDC, why not do a cool meet up?
It’s not going to be anything fancy, we’re just going to pick a restaurant/bar in San Francisco, likely somewhere a little outside the GDC bubble… So you might need to take an Uber or hop on the BART for a minute or two, but we’ll have a great time. I’m going to send out an email to all of our backers this evening to try to get an idea of how many people would be interested in coming before settling on a venue before we (potentially) invite hundreds of people to a tiny bar. If you’re an existing backer, keep an eye out for that.
If you’re not backing us yet, and you want to be included, back us on Patreon and you’ll get an invite. We’re settled on Tuesday night next week in the evening, but will get more specific on Monday once we’re in town and have some kind of an idea on how many people want to come. If we get a huge response, we might just hang out in a park and drink some beers. (I need to double check if you can drink beers in parks in SF, I guess!)
If you end up being able to make it, awesome, if not, we still appreciate your support more than we can ever fully say. It’s real awesome to have nearly 600 people keeping TouchArcade afloat. Your vote of confidence means the world to us.
Note: This is entirely separate from the “main" TouchArcade party at Bin 55 on Wednesday evening at 7:00 where everyone is invited. This is (hopefully) going to be smaller and more exclusive.
