Stylish Hack ‘n Slash ‘Dark Sword’ Gets New Trailer, is “Dangerously Close” to Releasing

Back in January we got a look at the next project from Tap Quest: Gate Keeper (Free) developer Nanoo Company, a side-scrolling hack ‘n slash action RPG called Dark Sword. Last night the developers posted a brand new gameplay trailer in our forums and noted that Dark Sword is currently awaiting App Store approval and that the game is “dangerously close to being launched!" Oh no, danger! Whether that means they’re awaiting approval to announce a future launch date or they’re just going to unleash this sucker upon us once it’s approved isn’t quite clear, but the bottom line is that it’s coming very, very soon. Check out the new trailer.

I love hack ‘n slash games like this, and with a layer of RPG trappings on top I’m hoping Dark Sword will have a bit more meat on its bones than the classics that defined the genre. I also love the silhouetted look, which isn’t exactly unique anymore but it does allow the game to show off really interesting enemy designs and fantastic animations. Very similarly to what the brutally difficult but surprisingly deep fighting game Shadow Fight 2 (Free) has done. We’ll be awaiting some good news regarding approval from Apple and hopefully it won’t be too long now before we’re all getting our Dark Sword on.
