About a half a year after releasing their clever tower defense/idle clicker hybrid Tap Quest: Gate Keeper (Free), developer Nanoo is back with their next release, a side-scrolling hack ‘n slash RPG called Dark Sword. Right off the bad Dark Sword reminds me of the similarly titled Dark Lands (Free) from a few years ago, but Dark Sword appears to be a free-roaming hack ‘n slash game whereas Dark Lands was more of an auto-runner with light combat elements. I also get a heavy Shadow Fight 2 (Free) vibe here due to the excellent animation and seemingly complex combat system. Check out the teaser and decide for yourself.
Dark Sword will be free to play and as you can see in the video there’s even an auto combat setting, so you can expect this will be the kind of game where you’ll do all sorts of grinding. But hey, that can be okay. Nanoo promises a “Farming and strengthening system for different weapons, Over 100 stages and monsters, and a Hardcore mode for the fearless." What’s more concerning than grinding is if there will be any sort of energy timers or other factors that might limit play, which is always a bummer. We’ll know soon enough as Nanoo expect Dark Sword to launch in early February and you can catch more info on the game in the forums.

I am beta testing it and it's really a good game, highly recommended!
Jared, I'm sooooo with you regarding Pix'n Love Rush. I have both the standard and DX versions, and still(!) check in a couple of times every week to see if they've been updated with recent goodies, like widescreen and MFi support, etc. Alas not :(
Fun fact: I was really close to naming my cat Pix I love Pix'n Love Rush so much. Settled on "Pickle" instead which probably has a better ring to it with how much I yell it.
Check out my cat and her new litter...
[EDIT]: should've rotated the pic one turn, clockwise!
Yeah man, DX is actually not too bad on an iPad since it plays in portrait mode and feels like a giant Game Boy. But the iPhone is where I loved that game most, and I just can't hang with the black borders. I believe that because it was developed by Pasta Games but published by Bulkypix, it would have to be Bulkypix that decided to want to update it and I doubt it would be financially worth it for them. However, maybe it'll turn out like Circuit Strike One which the original dev was able to get back from Chillingo and update on his own. I'll never give up hope!
This looks great. Thanks for the heads up. 🐱🐯🦁
OMG, that play through video!!😻😻😻
Had to watch the trailer and play through again. Some of the bad guys remind of the bad guys in Woah Dave. The power ups look awesome!
Mfi Support?? :)
that would make this game purrfect.
