‘Luftrausers’-Inspired ‘Pilots of the Dawn’ Submitted to Apple, Shooting for March Release

iOS gamers have been doing the aerial dogfighting thing for years now, and I have plenty of fond memories of heart-pumping battles in MiniSquadron (Free) going all the way back to 2009. Sadly, however, MiniSquadron has been sort of left in the dust with no updates these past few years. So a trio of developers took it upon themselves to create a 2D dogfighting game for iOS inspired by their own favorites, like the popular Luftrausers and Triplane Turmoil. The game is called Pilots of the Dawn, and they’ve just submitted the game to Apple and released a brand new trailer.

Pilots of the Dawn may not quite hit the levels of mayhem as something like Luftrausers, but it looks like some solid aerial action all the same. It’ll come equipped with a full campaign mode with 30 levels, an endless mode, daily challenges, 5 planes to unlock and upgrade, and Everyplay replay sharing. The developers have stated that Pilots of the Dawn will be completely free with only opt-in ads to watch for some extra coins. It both looks and sounds fun, and with Pilots of the Dawn now submitted if everything goes smoothly we should all be able to get our hands on it March 10th. Meanwhile, you can converse about the game in our forums.
