Minecraft: Pocket Edition ($6.99) continues its march to PC parity, with each update bringing the mobile version closer to its PC ancestor. The last update brought the first redstone elements to the game, and the 0.14 update aims to continue fleshing out the redstone side of the game. Fortunately for all the redstoners among you, the update seems to be almost upon us, judging from the tweet by MCPE developer, Tommasso Checchi. The last few updates went live a few days after announcements like the one we got today, so I expect that to be the case with 0.14. I’m quite glad to see how quickly the developers are churning out updates since Microsoft acquired Mojang; I know many were (rightfully) skeptical about the acquisition, but so far it looks like it’s all been good news.
So, 0.14 is going to be out on all platforms soon! All details and a 10 mb gif on this post 😀 https://t.co/B4CeZmoDpD

Now, what will the 0.14 update bring to the game? We’re getting repeaters, comparators, dispensers, droppers, hoppers, trapped chests, minecarts with chests, tnt, hoppers, etc, witches (which should be a nice, spooky addition to the game), armor dying, item frames (that allow you to show off your latest acquisitions), pumpkin and mob head hats (late for Halloween, unfortunately), and plenty of other fixes. No music, unfortunately, but I continue to be hopeful we’ll see that soon. But for now, we’ll have to make due with pushing our builds from the middle ages to the industrial revolution. While I don’t have a firm date, I expect the update to drop very soon.
