New Video Answers Burning Questions About Upcoming ‘Destruction Derby’-Inspired ‘Extreme Gear: Demolition Arena’

Late last week we posted the trailer for Extreme Gear: Demolition Arena, an upcoming demolition derby game from Zero Games Studios that is heavily inspired by the classic Destruction Derby games. I was very glad to see that it wasn’t just me who was excited for a true demolition derby game on mobile, as the response in the comment section was super positive, and Pierre Luc-Vettier from Zero Games even dropped in to provide a bit of extra info and answer some questions from the fans. Expanding on that, today Zero Games has released a new video which serves to answer some of the frequent questions they’ve been getting about Extreme Gear, and it does a nice job of showing off a bit of the game in the background as well.

My big takeaway from this video is something I alluded to on our podcast last week. That Extreme Gear: Demolition Derby is a passion project from a tiny team of gamers who grew up loving Destruction Derby, and felt it was something missing from the mobile platform. I also found it really interesting that Zero Games attempted to get a publisher on board with Extreme Gear so they’d have additional resources to add things like a racing mode and real online multiplayer, but the publishers felt that “demolition derby games are not interesting and not profitable." Blasphemy!

If you have your own questions about Extreme Gear: Demolition Arena be sure to send them into Zero Games by Facebook, Twitter or email as it sounds like they’re planning on releasing another video like this one in the near future. In the meantime, if you can’t get enough of Extreme Gear: Demolition Arena, check out this video Zero Games posted over the weekend which goes in-depth about car customization in the game.
