Iron Maiden and Roadhouse Interactive have just announced that they’re working on a mobile RPG to release later this year: Iron Maiden: Legacy of the Beast. You’ll play as Eddie in various forms all throughout the band’s history, with different abilities for each Eddie. And of course, there will be Iron Maiden music, including some previously unheard live recordings of the band. Iron Maiden has explored the world of video games before, with the Ed Hunter game from 1999, and the game-themed music video for “Speed of Light" from their latest album (along with the tie-in game), in all its glorious metal music video cheesiness:
Roadhouse Interactive is known for Warhammer 40K: Carnage ($2.99), and the whole Warhammer license is metal as hell already – I mean, Bolt Thrower’s Realm of Chaos uses Warhammer artwork for its album cover – so they seem like a good fit to do an Iron Maiden game. Maybe you can play it while wearing your ED-PH0N3S. As a metalhead, I’m excited, and I’m pretty sure forum moderator metalcasket died after hearing the news. This one’s set to hit this summer.

Crashlands is out also according to the forum thread.
Great week!
Its a bright week for me :)
Exploding kittens?
Sky chasers game of the week. I know everyone will be riding that crashlands coat tale though
STRONG.
Is the hospital game like Theme Hospital?
I'm hoping - loved Theme Hospital
Exploding kittens?
I've downloaded and tried a few of these games today, and here are my initial impressions:
Dungelot: Shattered Lands is great. The game mechanic is the same as the first two so if you'd liked those (I loved them and played the hell out of both), you'll like this one. It's a tremendous improvement over Dungelot 2 and I appreciate that it's a paid app without IAPs. So far, this is my favorite game of the week, but I haven't tried Crashlands yet.
Sky Chasers: I know everyone has been very excited for this game, but I gave it a solid hour today and really couldn't get into it. It's very difficult and rather heavy-handed with the F2P elements. I can only tolerate watching so many ads before I get annoyed, and I would've appreciated having access to a little bit more of the game before being bombarded with ads and offers for IAPs. I'm going to give it a little bit more time tomorrow to see if it's really that difficult or if I was just tired and might find it more doable after a few cups of coffee.
I Am Barbarian: This one seems to fall into the "impossible" category, which I generally don't like, and I only played for a few minutes before rage-quitting. It reminded me a bit of Mr. Jump, which I also rage-quit after dying in the same spot a bazillion times.
Pirate Power: This one is cute and easy but really fun, at least so far.
Crashlands: Like I said, I haven't had a chance to try it yet but it was an insta-buy based on the pre-release hype and the fantastic review here on TA. I plan on giving this one (and Dungelot) the bulk of my gaming time this weekend.
There are a few others that look good (namely Westport Independent and Baum), but I'm going to wait a few days for reviews before actually trying them.
Dungelot: Shattered Lands and Sky Chasers – Absolutely 100% agree with your thoughts on both games! I also insta-bought Crashlands on hype alone and am eagerly awaiting reviews on Baum and The Wesport Independent before grabbing them, too.
Kindred spirits?
Spot on regarding Dungelot and Sky Chasers.
Exploding kittens is out!
Is it? It's not showing when I search it on the App Store?
Go to Google and search exploding kittens there is a link!;)
Got it! Thanks, lemessie :0)
What a nice looking week of unique games. May try Baum :D
Crashlands (obviously) and Dungelot have already downloaded and are sat snugly on my iPhone homescreen, but I'd really love to see a review for The Westport Independent (Baum, too actually) before dropping more iTunes credit.
Does anyone know any games like bad Viking:cotmk? I really enjoyed playing through this game. Thanks, Walz
Paddle Panda. Download it.
I downloaded Baum and can confirm that it is as cool as it looks. Great so far.
