Those of y’all looking forward to the out-there next entry in the Five Nights at Freddy’s franchise, FNAF World, don’t have too much longer to wait. Creator Scott Cawthon has announced that the game will launch on February 19th on desktop, with a demo available on GameJolt ahead of launch. Mobile versions are planned with a similar staggered release plan as the other FNAF games, with the ports being released in the weeks following the desktop release. Ideally, this shouldn’t take too long, based on Cawthon’s history, though he just today welcomed a new baby boy to his family. Considering he’s beat his own expectations for release dates before, it’s quite possible Cawthon is a developer from an alternate, bizarro universe.
FNAF World is a radical departure from the other FNAF games, as this is an RPG starring the characters who previously tormented you, now under your control. It’ll be interesting to see how this one shakes out as it’s quite different from the games Cawthon is known for, along with how the rabid fanbase of the series will take to this game. But it will be one of the more curious releases of early 2016, that’s for sure.
