People on our forums are quite upset about Monster Hunter Freedom Unite not working on iOS 9. The game has been broken for a bit, and apparently will be getting fixed at some point. But if you have a jailbroken device, there’s apparently a backdoor fix. According to an enterprising user on r/iOSgaming, if you install a new Cydia tweak called iOS9MonsterHunter, it apparently does two things. One is that it adds cheats to the game. The other, more important thing, is that apparently the game now works on iOS 9 with this tweak.
While it’s possible that this doesn’t work for everyone, we’ll see how it shakes out as people download and test it out on their jailbroken devices. It does provide hope that Capcom could fix this long-broken app, but it also raises the question: if some random jailbreak developer called u7c, who has no other trace of jailbreak development out there, can fix the game with a patch, why hasn’t Capcom done it already?
