‘Tiny Thief’ Spiritual Successor ‘Love You to Bits’ Delayed to February 2016, New Screens Released

Just over a year ago, fans of the excellent point-and-click adventure Tiny Thief (Free) had reason to celebrate as several members of the team who created that game announced Love You To Bits, a spiritual successor of sorts that was being co-developed by Pat.io and Alike Studio. The announcement trailer looked fantastic, with a similar art style to Tiny Thief and with a wacky premise that revolved around a space explorer named Kosmo collecting bits of his girlfriend who had been blown all across the universe. Originally planned for release in the latter half of this year, Love You To Bits isn’t going to make it out before the close of 2015, and its developers have whipped up a cute comic to explain exactly why.

What it pretty much boils down to is that game development is hard enough when you’re a well-funded team of many, and exponentially more difficult when you’re only a tiny self-funded team trying to hammer out your passion project in your spare time while also taking care of your real-life responsibilities. I think I speak for everyone though when I say I’d rather have a game delayed and be fully ready to go than have a game that’s not quite ready for prime time rushed out just to make an intended release date. As an apology for the delay, Love You To Bits developers have released a couple of new screens of the game.

I absolutely loved Tiny Thief, so I’ve been really looking forward to Love You To Bits for this past year, as have many excited members in our forums. I guess a few more months of waiting won’t kill us, and I’m sure we’ve all got a hefty backlog we should be playing right now anyway, am I right? Look for more on Love You To Bits in the weeks to come leading up to its (hopefully) February 2016 release.
