Early last month Marvel and developer TinyCo announced Marvel Avengers Academy, an upcoming free to play “adventure/simulation" that will let you build and manage a specialized school for superheroes and will feature college-aged versions of many popular Marvel characters. Based on the teaser shown at the time, Marvel Avengers Academy looked to be a humorous and lighthearted look into the college days of some of the more famous Marvel superheroes, like Thor using the mighty power of Mjölnir to hammer a flyer into a bulletin board. Today a brand new trailer was released for Marvel Avengers Academy that plays even harder on those college tropes as a host of Marvel characters sit down to take their student ID badge photo.
The official press release for Marvel Avengers Alliance mentions “a rich cast with hundreds of characters from the Marvel Avengers universe, re-imagined as students navigating the social ups and downs of Academy life, while protecting the world, and developing their trademark super powers." With a roster of characters that deep, Marvel Avengers Academy is actually sounding quite interesting. It’s scheduled for release in early 2016 so look for more in the not too distant future.
