Cartoon Network Games is launching another game based on Adventure Time, with BMO Snaps coming out this week. Princess Bubblegum has accidentally set some holograms loose upon the Candy Kingdom, because that’s just the kind of thing she does, so she’s decided to let the ever-trusting BMO shoot the holograms into non-existence, shoot being in the sense of photography here. But also, the holograms won’t exist any more after this. The holograms will hurt you if you don’t shoot them in time, so don’t let them hang around for too long.
The characters that you snap include a few regular stalwarts, but also the Vampire King from the recent “Stakes" miniseries, so that old fellow’s hologram is still vamping about. You can both swipe to move the camera around and use the gyroscope to point and shoot, which does a good job at combining between feeling like you’re actually using a camera to shoot photos, and not losing the precision you need. Plus, you can unlock stickers to add to your actual photos, and there’s original voiceover work from Niki Yang and Hynden Walch, who do BMO and Princess Bubblegum’s voices on the show. This one might be fun for the younger Adventure Time fan out there, and it’ll be out on Thursday for $2.99.
