Back in September, developer Young Horses teased on the official Octodad Twitter account that sometime in “Octo-ber" a port of the game could be heading to iOS and Android. Did they purposely wait until this month so they could make the “Octo" joke? Has the mobile version of this popular console and PC game actually been ready to go for months and months, but they held out for the “Octo" month? I sure hope so. Anyway, as Young Horses has revealed in an email to TouchArcade, we now know the specific “Octo-ber" day that Octodad: Dadliest Catch will be hitting iOS and Android: October 29th.
Also according to the email, Octodad will be coming to the new Apple TV, which Tim Cook announced last night will begin shipping out to folks as early as next week. While full-screen touch controls on an iPhone or iPad sound pretty plausible to me for Octodad, I’m not so sure about that wacky half-touch half-buttons Apple TV remote, but I’m interested to see how it works out. First though, I’m really looking forward to the iOS version of Octodad, so look for it to drop October 29th.
