One of the games that Apple showed off at the Apple TV launch event was Beat Sports, a rhythm sports game by Harmonix. While many people dismissed this as trash gaming for babies, just now on TV, perhaps a connection to one of the great rhythm games of all-time will turn people’s opinions around? Well, Parappa the Rapper creator Masaya Matsuura has compoosed a pair of tracks that you can in the game. You can hop on over Masaya Matsuura’s Soundcloud page to listen to “huge hug 5.0" and “speed fighter 7.0" right now. I’m digging the “huge hug" groove that’s going on there.
Pretty cool stuff. You hear more and more about gaming veterans contributing to mobile titles, though of course the role and influence varies on the title. But hey, I’d love to see more games get contributions from gaming veterans like this. And if you think Beat Sports is a throwaway Apple TV title to not care about, you just might be missing out on a game with some cool music.
