‘Frank the Dillo’ is Like the Lovechild of ‘Marble Madness’ and Mini Golf

When I think back to some of the fondest memories of gaming in my youth, Marble Madness is a game that sticks out. Sure it was excruciatingly difficult and to this day I don’t think I’ve ever gotten past the fourth or fifth stage, but that sure didn’t stop me from playing it all the time. Oh, I also like mini-golf, both the real life and video game varieties. Wouldn’t it be cool if someone came along and combined those two amazing things? Enter developer Cownado and their upcoming game Frank the Dillo. Based on its trailer, it very much looks like a mashup of Marble Madness and mini-golf, along with all sorts of other wacky stuff thrown in for good measure. Check it out.

Frank the Dillo is set for release at some point in October. It looks really cool, but the only bummer so far is that at least for now the game appears to only be coming to iPads and Android tablets. I typically trust a developer when they make a game tablet-only that it truly needs the larger screen real estate, but we’ve also seen plenty of tablet-only games move to the iPhone with pretty good results. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens. First thing’s first though, and that’s to get Frank the Dillo out into the wild, so look for it to hit the App Store sometime next month.

What about the big security breach that happened recently? No mention of this?

Mentioning negativity drives away investors. It's a thing that happens, and Patreon is basically open-source investment for dummies as far as I know, so it's up to the individuals to do the needed research before committing. All TouchArcade should be doing is letting folks know that, hey, ya wanna support them? Give them some money, and they'll stay in business for longer. Besides, something like the recent security breach merits a separate article IMHO.

Every Patreon user got emailed about it. We have ~500 backers who have already been notified of everything they need to know. FWIW, it seems like a majorly low-level attack, they're not even forcing a password reset.

I was informed, went there and changed my password. They didn't access credit card info, which IMO is the critical info. I think that Patreon's security breach and supporting TA are two different things...

Glad you are comfortable with that. I'll pass.

            Cool.

It's not a matter of being comfortable with that or not. Are you comfortable every time you read TA? I am, and I want it to continue that way. Servers being hacked can happen anywhere/anytime. Weren't Apple servers hacked recently, or some malicious apps went into the App Store? Are you comfortable with that? Have you stopped using the App Store because of that? Life continues, and thanks to Patreon TA also does...

I also found that pretty odd...

I just pledged $1 a month, it seems their own billing service isn't available, had to use PayPal which I'm sure is a far more secure way of donating.

    Keep up the good work.

    No, thank you x

Makes me so happy to support. I see it as nothing more than a subscription fee like a pay for so many of my favorite content providers.

Keep up the good work everyone!

I just read the article/description on the Patreon site and am sad to hear you guys are struggling to keep on reliably. I cannot donate much but as considering I've been following TouchArcade for years I felt the need to donate the at least $1 a month, I'm unable to really contribute more as I have my own financial burdens however I hope more people donate smaller amounts so it can all do up to a large chunk.

    Best of luck TA

I will always block your ads and will always support you via Patreon. 5$ a month seems a bit low considering the cost of a Penthouse magazine. Can I do like 8$ a month? Don't think I saw that option.

Awesome comparison "Penthouse & TouchArcade". Gotta let that settle in.

    2. appfreak

LOL You can select your monthly maximum to $8. Paterson is really flexible.
