We had a brief teaser of The Balloons from Noodlecake Games, Hyperbeard, and Apps-o-Rama, mostly centered around spikes. But what about the actual game itself? Well, a trailer with actual gameplay footage is out now, and it shows off some of what to expect from The Balloons. Namely, balloons flying and trying to avoid spikes, while getting as high as possible, because isn’t that the goal in life? Check out the trailer, which mixes gameplay footage with a cat trying to be a balloon:
Yep, with the scoring being based around distance, Noodlecake finally just made Crossy Road, JEEZ. This does look quite interesting, though: the two-dimensional movement is definitely something Noodlecake has used in other games they’ve published, but it looks like it could work quite here for a challenging survival game. And I’m a big fan of pixel art games, so this game has sunk its emotional hooks in me right away just based on the looks. Plus, given Noodlecake’s track record with publishing solid games, this seems like it’s worth keeping on your radar. Look for The Balloons to launch on October 1st.
