If you weren’t around for the weird way Square retitled their early games just for fun, this might all be a little confusing to you, but, here goes. Final Fantasy Adventure is a Game Boy game which was originally released in Japan as Seiken Densetsu: Final Fantasy Gaiden and Europe as Mystic Quest. (Not to be confused with the SNES game Final Fantasy Mystic Quest.) It then got a remake for the Game Boy Advance titled Sword of Mana as this isn’t even a Final Fantasy game at all- Instead it’s the first game of the Mana series which would eventually blow up into Secret of Mana. So, whatever you know this game as, here’s the good news: It’s coming to mobile this year.
So far only the Japanese App Store release has been confirmed, but if it’s anything like Squeenix’s other stuff, it’ll either hit the US App Store at the same time or not long after they localize it. The game sports a remastered soundtrack from one of the original composers, Kenji Ito. Additionally (and obviously) it’s got a whole new graphics engine.
