Apple Announces iPhone 6s and 6s Plus with 3D Touch

Announced third in their big new product announcements, the iPhone 6s and corresponding Plus model have just become a reality, as expected, along with a new Rose Gold color to go with the standard array of colors. The new feature is 3D Touch, similar to Force Touch on the Macbook and Apple Watch. You can call up shortcuts to features in various apps. This could have gaming applications as a new pressure-sensitive way to touch the screen with a taptic engine providing haptic feedback.

Apple showed off a new Warhammer game, Warhammer 40K: Freeblade powered on the new 6s using 3D Touch to allow users to aim by swiping across the screen, and then using hard touches to fire.

Hey Siri will be a new feature where you can access Siri from anywhere, even while unplugged, just by saying “Hey Siri."LTE advanced with 23 bands will be in the 6s, with twice the wi-fi speed up to 866 Mbps.

iPhone 6s

The iPhone 6s and 6s Plus will come in at the same prices and configurations as the 6 and 6 Plus, starting at $199 and $299 on contract, with new installment plans also available. Apple Stores will offer a new iPhone Upgrade Program, where you can get a new iPhone every year with an unlocked phone, choosing your carrier of choice. Pre-orders begin on September 12th, with the new iPhones available on September 25th. iOS 9 will be available on September 16th. New iCloud storage will be available, with 50 GB available for $0.99 per month, going up to 1 TB for $9.99 per year.
