At the beginning of June we were treated to a new trailer for Northway Games’ Rebuild 3 along with a vague release window of July or August for the iOS version. Great! Rebuild ($2.99) on iOS was one of the best strategy games I had played, so of course I was excited for the sequel. Then early this month Northway announced on their blog that Rebuild 3 was scheduled for an August 13th release. Again, great! Unfortunately, just a couple of days before that release date Northway had to push the release back to August 27th due to a device compatibility issue. Bummer, but I’m patient, you know? Well, today is August 27th and unfortunately Rebuild 3 has been delayed yet again.
In a brief update on the original blog post announcing the first delay, Northway notes that “The delay has been further delayed due to unexpected delays in getting the new build approved. I’m aiming for September 3rd now but it’s best I stop promising things I don’t have control over!" It’s a bummer, but again, I’m patient and I’d rather have a fully-functioning game released than something just thrown out there for the sake of making a release date. As the post says, they’re shooting for September 3rd but don’t want to promise anything just yet. We’ll keep our eye out for any further news, and hopefully by this time next week we’ll all be playing Rebuild 3 on our iOS devices.
