Well, it’s Friday so why not have a silly story to kick off our weekend? As many of you may know, I’m a huge San Francisco Giants fan, and naturally I follow their official account on Twitter. And when I’m casually scrolling through my feed and see that my Giants have made a parody video of the cult-classic ’80-90s television show Full House, well, that’s just something you HAVE to click on. And I was not disappointed. Check it out for yourself.
Now, obviously the Giants aren’t just going around making this video for giggles. Not only did Full House take place in San Francisco, but the Giants are celebrating the show with a special Full House night on September 30th, which includes an awesome giveaway of a snow globe that contains the iconic “Painted Ladies" homes that are featured in the intro to Full House. Hence this promotional video. So, you know, they’re not just weirdos or anything (OK the Giants are kind of weird).
Anyway, promotional video shenanigans aside, did you catch what Dave Coulier, better known as Joey Gladstone on Full House, was rocking near the end of that video? Yes, he was rocking a GameVice MFi controller on his iPad mini. We’ve written about the GameVice a couple of times before, and the version that was built for the iPad mini actually went on sale in Apple’s online store just last month. In case you missed it, here’s a screen grab of Joey watching this Giants video with full, glorious physical controls.
I guess my question is: Is this GameVice actually Dave Coulier’s? Is that his personal iPad mini, and he has it equipped with a GameVice because duh obviously dude gets his game on in between doing all the amazing things celebrities do. Is it possible that Joey from Full House… reads TouchArcade?? Perhaps I’m reading too much into this, and most likely the iPad mini and GameVice are merely props that were on set for the commercial shoot. And in an effort to not have Coulier covering up the screen of the iPad mini with its thin bezels, they through that sucker into a GameVice. Who knows. But I’d like to think that Dave “Joey from Full House" Coulier is in fact a serious mobile gamer, who might even be reading these very words right this minute. Hi Joey!
