We’ve been talking about FDG Entertainment’s upcoming Venture Kid because as folks who grew up in the age of pixel art, games that recall that era touch a certain nostalgic nerve. But if you’ve wanted to try the game out ahead of its eventual desktop and mobile release, now you have a shot, as FDG has posted a demo in our forums for everyone to try out. This only runs on Windows PCs, so you’re out of luck unless you can get it running through Wine or virtualization or some other clever trickeration.
And man, I thought the game looked cool, but actually playing it makes the whole Mega Man influence come in loud and clear. The game is playable with just movement and two action buttons, so it should work quite well on mobile, though controller support will always be welcome here. Definitely share your feedback about the demo in our forums and the comments, but I’m really excited for this one to come to fruition.
