A big part of the Five Nights at Freddy’s metagame seems to be describing how absolutely terrified you are, and the latest Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 teaser was so shockingly horrifying to me that I’m only posting it now because I’ve spent the entire night alternating between a terror-induced catatonic state and crying like a baby, pleading for anyone who can hear me to save me from Feddy Fazbear and his crew of animatronic miscreants that have served as the direct cause of horror-related insomnia since the release of the first Five Nights at Freddy’s.

If you’re brave enough to stare directly into the heart of fear and browse the Five Nights at Freddy’s subreddit, you’re likely already fully aware of the brain-meltingly scary teaser image. But, if this is the first you’ve heard of it- Strap in. Just remember, you might want to call your loved ones before scrolling down and just make sure all of your end of life plans are in order in case you find yourself so terrified that you just drop dead. I actually have had my DNR on file since Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, but I’m kind of an obsessive planner.

Anyway, Five Nights at Freddy’s fans are already going wild at deriving the meaning behind this new image. This fan-modified, for instance, points out that once you crank the contrast up you can see all sorts of other stuff including potentially the phrase “protect me" inside of the, um, lower mouth. One thing we do know for sure, is that Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 is coming this Halloween, and it will haunt your dreams for eternity.
