E3 2015: ‘The Walking Dead: Michonne’ Series Announced by Telltale

Telltale Games is working on a new miniseries called The Walking Dead: Michonne, focusing on the popular sword-wielding character from the comics and TV series. The game will consist of three episodes, and be available later this year. This was announced at their E3 press conference, will be developed by Skybound, and was confirmed to take place between issues #126 and #139 in the comics series, for fans wondering how this fits into the continuity.

The game will require The Walking Dead: Season Two (Free) to play, but the first episode of that is free at the moment, so anyone who is interested should be able to check out this mini-series when it launches later this year, across pretty much every platform in existence, as is usual for Telltale releases. Expect this one to release this fall. It’s an interesting approach, but Michonne is a particularly popular character, and these mini-series may give Telltale the ability to tell smaller-scale tales than a five-or-six episode season would allow them to do.
