Whitaker Trebella, indie composer and developer known for Polymer ($2.99) and Pivvot ($2.99), is finally getting ready to release his next game, Piloteer. He’s finally announced the release date, June 25th, and released a teaser trailer showing off a bit of the game. It’s been in the works for a while – it was announced last October – but the game has undergone a lot of tweaking and structural changes to make it all work. Check out the teaser below:
As you see, you’ll be controlling a jetpack-equipped protagonist, flying about and trying to land safely on the ground, through a Chicago-inspired landscape. Sadly, it appears that Chicago’s venerable pipe district will still only be represented by Hodappy Bird (Free). It’ll be interesting to see how this one turns out – I’ve gotten to play some early builds, which Trebella has kept private so as to not let the game be imitated by anyone before he could finish it. So you may just have to wait a bit longer to see just what Piloteer will really be.
