If you play Kung Fury – The Game (Free) game, you’ll get a free, ad-supported, action-brawler. It’s similar to One Finger Death Punch (Free), where you tap left and right to attack enemies on either side of you, punching out Nazis, lady kung-fu warriors, and killer robots. You’d notice how the game has been made to look like an old arcade machine, complete with a rounded CRT look and scanlines. The visual effect is actually really cool. It’s pretty neat, there’s only one IAP to remove ads, it’s a pretty cool package all on its own. Then you realize that it’s a tie-in to the ridiculous and just-released Kung Fury movie, which you can watch on YouTube right now for free:
Hey, this may be a licensed tie-in, but the game ain’t bad, and the production values for something aiming for fake retro-ness are a lot better than what many faux-retro games try to do. Kung Fury the game stands on its own as a fun high score game, much less as a ridiculous tie-in to a ridiculous movie.
