How long has it been since a huge, great iOS RPG went on sale for an awesome price? Like, three days or something at least, I’m sure. Well, I hope you all kept at least a fiver in your wallet, because the wonderful Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition ($9.99) has gone on sale for the first time ever since its launch late last year. Regularly selling for $9.99, would-be adventurers can now embark from the town of Easthaven for half the price, a mere $4.99.

Following in the same line as Beamdog and Overhaul Games’ Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition ($9.99) and Baldur’s Gate 2: Enhanced Edition ($9.99), this version of Icewind Dale includes new kits, classes, items, gear, and spells, along with restored content that was cut from the game’s original release. It also includes the Heart Of Winter and Trials Of The Luremaster expansion packs.

While it uses the same engine as the Baldur’s Gate series, Icewind Dale has more of a combat and dungeon crawling focus. Seeing the game through to its conclusion is quite the challenge. While its story isn’t on the same level as the Baldur’s Gate games, it still has a pretty interesting tale to tell. There’s no indication at the moment of how long this sale will go on for, but looking at the length of sales on the developer’s other games, you probably shouldn’t count on the price sticking around for more than a couple of days or so. If you don’t have the necessary funds, go out and kill local wildlife until they drop the correct amount of change. Don’t actually do that. That was a joke. Animals don’t carry coins in real life. You’ll have to find your five dollars elsewhere, but be quick about it because this is a deal you shouldn’t miss out on. Happy adventuring!
