If you thought Five Nights at Freddy’s ($2.99), the hit horror franchise from Scott Cawthon that has proved to be a hit on both desktop and mobile, was coming to an end, you were wrong. Cawthon posted on his website (down as of writing) that Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 is in the works with a teaser image indicating it’s “The Final Chapter," though that’s hardly stopped horror franchises in the past. We’ll see if this is for real. There’s a release date mentioned of October 31st, 2015, but with the desktop versions of the game hitting before the mobile ones, it’s possible there might be a wait. Or, maybe a simultaneous launch for the fourth edition will be in the cards.
All 3 of the current entries in the series have been virtual money-printing machines for Scott Cawthon, as each game has topped the charts and is still in the top paid games right now. So whether FNAF4 is actually the final chapter remains to be seen, because it is a cash cow. But who knows.
