‘Crossy Road’-Inspired Dungeon Crawler ‘The Quest Keeper’ Now Available

TouchArcade Rating:

The best advice I can give any aspiring mobile game developer is “Just make Crossy Road, JEEZ!" Developer Tyson Ibele took that advice to heart and created The Quest Keeper (Free), which just launched in the App Store earlier today. The key point in “Just make Crossy Road, JEEZ!", which I should probably make an effort to make more clear from now on, is to not simply copy Crossy Road verbatim, and thankfully The Quest Keeper definitely has its own identity. The voxel graphics and isometric perspective look like they could be the dark cousin of Crossy Road, but the two games play very differently.

In The Quest Keeper you send your little hero on his way with a swipe, then he automatically moves from then on. The only thing that stops him is walking into a wall, and then it’s up to you to determine what direction to start him off in again. The main goal is to make it as far as possible while collecting treasures and navigating the terrain without falling into a pit to your death. Just another day as a dungeon crawler!

To be honest, I don’t need to do much selling of The Quest Keeper, as it’s free to download and try and pretty much speaks for itself. Gamers in our forums are loving it so far, and I’ve been having a blast in just the short amount of time I’ve spent with it as well. There are occasional banner and video ads which can be disabled for a $1.99 IAP if you enjoy the game, so there’s really no reason not to give this one a try if you’re a fan of FUN.
